Child Health Awardee Spotlight: Nate Jowett, M.D.

Dr. Nate Jowett was selected as one of only five recipients of our July 2019 Child Health Research Awards.  He is Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Surgical Photonics & Engineering Laboratory at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Jowett’s Hood-funded project focuses on gene therapy for peripheral nerve repair, which holds the potential to lay the foundation for future development of high-performance bioengineered devices as alternatives to nerve autografts, and ultimately may help to reduce morbidity and enhance outcomes for impacted children.
