Hood Awardee Update: Dr. Kira Bona on Poverty and Childhood Cancer Outcomes

Kira Bona, MD, MPH, is a pediatric oncologist and investigator focused on improving disease outcomes for pediatric cancer patients by systematically intervening on social determinants of health. Dr. Bona, also a 2018 Child Health Awardee, was recently featured in Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s “Behind the Breakthroughs” program for her novel work exploring the impact of poverty on childhood cancer outcomes and how to reduce disparities.
